Promoting Animal Welfare

We are a 5013c non-profit, foster, and volunteer-based organization located in the Memphis, TN area. Our organization strives to help animals that have been left to fend for themselves to become healthy once again. Once they have received the proper care, we find them loving new families to adopt them.

OUR MISSION

All Heart Animal Rescue is a 501(c) 3 non-profit animal rescue organization staffed entirely by volunteers. Memphis and the surrounding areas have an unfortunately high euthanasia rate for companion animals. Our goal is to help responsibly reduce the number of animals euthanized in our area by pulling pets from area shelters. We will ensure the pets are altered and healthy before finding the long term, loving forever homes they each deserve.

Ready to Adopt?

Congratulations on your decision to help a homeless animal with their second chance at life! Nothing feels better than the unconditional love and appreciation of a rescued pet. We want to make sure we find the right match for you and our available pets so that your home is their last stop on their long journey. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our adoption policies before you apply. For the safety of our pets and the long term happiness of our adopters, we do require an application, background screening, and an adoption fee. We want to make sure we find the perfect pet for your family!

Ready to Foster? Thank you for choosing All Heart Animal Rescue! Fostering is a fantastic way to give to the animal community by offering a safe place to stay for a while until a permanent home is found.

What is required of a foster parent? We provide all medications, food, and supplies needed- you help by treating the pet as if he is yours until we can find his forever home! This means you may need to take the pet for visits to the veterinarian as needed (medical costs are covered by rescue), provide basic training such as leash walking, socialization with other pets, etc….It is a very rewarding experience to know you are directly responsible for helping a needy pet go from a euthanasia list to a perfect home!

Become a volunteer: Want to help the animal community, but can’t take a pet into your home right now? There are many other ways to help! We also need assistance with transportation, adoption events, and home visits/adoption screening. Are you a photographer? We would gladly accept assistance in getting creative shots of our adoptables out to the public. Contact us to see what volunteer positions may currently be available!

What Can You Do to Help?

Make the pet a member of your family. Understand the long term commitment involved with adopting a pet. Dogs can be a 10-15 year commitment, and cats can be 20 years or more! Normal human life changes such as moving or having a baby should not be a reason to surrender your pet.

Have a plan for your pets. Many loved companions end up at high kill shelters after an owner is hospitalized or passes away unexpectedly. Make sure you have a friend or relative willing to take on your babies in an emergency.

Keep your pets healthy. Pets are also a financial commitment. They need monthly heartworm prevention and annual check-ups at a bare minimum. Many times unforeseen medical costs can arise- please be prepared!

Spay/Neuter your pets. If you would like to experience having new-born puppies or kittens, please consider fostering an expectant pet who is currently at the shelter. Most moms and pups are euthanized if rescue cannot be found.

Adopt – Don’t shop and foster! We can’t make a dent in the overpopulation issue without help from the community. Please don’t support breeders and if you can’t adopt, foster! We will provide you with all the supplies you need – all you supply is a safe, loving, temporary home until they are adopted.
